For her 10th birthday in 1974, Colleen was given a lifetime subscription to National Geographic magazine. Each month she read about countries and cultures around the world. This exposure fostered a lifelong love of travel, a curiosity about different communities and a passion to learn about conservation. Perhaps above all, she is interested in people, in understanding the complexities of lives and livelihoods and in forging and fostering relationships and friendships with those that she meets. A former ER nurse, Colleen has now visited and explored on five of the seven continents so far. And yes, she still receives and is inspired by the National Geographic magazine. Colleen believes in the CSF mission and, in her roles both as a benefactor and as an adviser to the Foundation, is delighted to support their projects.
