Chime is the Senior Advisor to the Tarayana Foundation after having served as its Secretary General until 2021. The last position she held before joining the Foundation was as the Head of Planning and Policy at the Ministry of Agriculture of the Government of Bhutan. She is a founding member of the Business, Enterprise and Employment Support (BEES) Network of South Asian Women and the South Asian Women’s Network (SWAN). She is a conscious advocate for grassroots empowerment through holistic rural development. She is well experienced in policy dialogues and is passionate about green growth for the economic empowerment of the masses, environmental conservation and the utilization of traditional knowledge to complement scientific findings in co-creating local solutions. She has a Master of Science degree from Cornell University, Ithaca, NY; Diploma in Research Methodologies from AVRDC - TOP, Kasetsart University, Thailand; and BSc in Horticulture from the University of Agricultural Sciences, Bangalore, India.
